A.L.Liss is a member of the class of 2025 at Coginchaug Regional High School in Durham, Connecticut. Some of her interests are writing, reading, drawing, Model UN, french horn, and guitar.
Abby Rickin-Marks is member of the class of 2021 at Fox Chapel Area High School in Pittsburgh, PA. In the times that she isn't doing schoolwork, she enjoys working on a family tree, reading, writing, and playing with her pets.
Abigael Good will soon be a freshman at Brandeis University. She lives in Short Hills, New Jersey, where she collects too many books and reads at least three of them at a time. One day, she hopes to write a book of her own.
Abigail Aronson is a senior at the Bronx High School of Science She lives in Manhattan and is am interested in politics, history, government, biology, art, and dance.
Abigail Chesman is a member of the class of 2025 at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, MD. She is the photo editor of the newspaper and yearbook and the biology editor of the science journal. Abby is passionate about photography and English, and in her spare time, she likes to read and listen to music. Abby can quote the 2004 movie Mean Girls in its entirety.
Abigail Fisher is a Freshman at Wesleyan University. She was a 2017 Rising Voices Fellow with the Jewish Women’s Archive, and part of the 2018 cohort of the Bronfman Youth Fellowship. In 2019, she was named one of the Jewish Week’s 36 Under 36. In addition to receiving numerous Scholastic Arts Awards for creative writing, her work has appeared in Huffington Post, Lilith Magazine, and The Forward.
Abigail Ventimiglia is a senior at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. She is captain of the dive team and competes in varsity pole vaulting as well. She enjoys traveling, acting, and of course, writing.
Abigail Winograd is an eighteen-year-old senior at Scheck Hillel Community School in Miami, Florida. She is extremely involved in United Synagogue Youth, social-action activism, theater, music, and writing. This summer, she will be working at Camp Ramah Darom.
Ada Perlman is a sophomore at The Ellis School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She loves musical theater and is involved with many productions each year. Some of her passions include singing, writing, running, and reading. Ada's work has been published in Fresh Ink for Teens, The JewishWeek, jGirls+ Magazine, her school newspaper; The Ellisian Times and Large Print; a selective teen journal run out of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
Adeena Bromberg Seltzer is a senior at Northampton High School in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is a member of her school’s comedy improvisation troupe and the outreach chair for the Northampton Mayor's Youth Committee. Adeena loves to paint and write poetry and is highly involved with USY and Camp Ramah. In her free time, you can find her talking your ear off about Jewish philosophy, or teaching her friends Israeli Zumba dances.
Adi Israeli is a 19-year-old living in Tel Aviv, Israel, where she was born. She is a high school graduate currently serving in the Israel defense forces (IDF). She is a professional athlete, specializing in 400m hurdles. Nowadays her main interest is CrossFit.
Adina Gerwin lives in New York City, where she is a member of the class of 2023 at the Abraham Joshua Heschel School. She is currently spending her junior year studying abroad in Hamburg, Germany as part of the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) Fellowship. Adina is also an editorial board member and contributing writer of the international online magazine, Kidspirit. These days when she is not writing or practicing her German, you can find her walking along the Elbe River, at the Central Library, or simply reading in a cafe.
Adina Siff is a member of the class of 2023 at Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C. When not debating politics with family and friends, Adina enjoys babysitting, hiking, writing, and playing guitar. She has also memorized Taylor Swift’s entire discography.
Adina Solomon is a senior at Golda Och Academy in New Jersey. In her free time, she enjoys ice skating, baking, and writing poetry.
Adrija Jana is a member of the class of 2022 at Mahadevi Birla World Academy in Kolkata, India. She is the Secretary of the Students’ Council and the Chief Editor of the Annual School Magazine. Adrija is passionate about history and English Literature, and she also enjoys theater, writing, and filmmaking. Adrija is well known for her kind heart.
Agam Bouzaglo is a member of the class of 2024 at Gann Academy in Waltham, Massachusetts. She enjoys editing for Gann's school newspaper, Shevuon HaTichon, and playing varsity soccer and basketball. Agam is passionate about biology and neuroscience and enjoys hanging out with her friends and going on walks outdoors. Both sides of Agam's extended family live in Israel, and she lived there in childhood, so she loves to talk about the country and its associated cultures.
Ahava is a senior at Ulpanat Orot in Toronto Canada. She loves to write and posts on her blog on The Times Of Israel, as well as participating in Model United Nations, Mock trial, the StandWithUs High School Internship, and NCSY Student Executive Board as Secretary.
Ahuva Mahalel is a member of the class of 2024 at High School For Dual Language and Asian Studies in New York, NY. She is a counselor for her Jewish youth group and is passionate about mental health education. Ahuva enjoys playing tennis, hanging out with friends, journaling, reading, traveling, and spending time with her younger brother.
Aidyn Levin is a senior at The Paideia School in Atlanta, Georgia. She plays on her school's ultimate frisbee team, teaches at a Jewish Sunday school, and volunteers weekly at an English class for refugees and immigrants. Aidyn is passionate about biology and photography, as well as spending time in the outdoors.
Aimée Brown-Borges is a member of the graduating class of 2025 on the East Coast. Her favorite areas of study are history and English, and she enjoys having deep discussions about interesting topics. In her free time, Aimée enjoys reading, writing, learning interesting new things, and spending time with her dogs. Aimée has been a fan of Doctor Who since the age of eight and firmly believes David Tennant is the best Doctor.
Alejandra Nurko is in 12th grade at Colegio a Tarbut. She lives in Mexico City, and her favorite things to do are going to her tnua (Scouts), reading, and doing gymnastics.
Aleph Katz is a recent graduate of Tyler Legacy in Tyler, Texas. She will be attending Hebrew University in Jerusalem this coming fall, and she enjoys theater, debate, writing, and social action. She is an author and playwright.
Alex Berman was born and raised in Manhattan and is a member of the class of 2023 at the High School of American Studies at Lehman College in the Bronx. When not out running (preferably in the rain), Alex can usually be found drawing, writing, or reading, with a cup of tea and a cuddly kitten. Alex is also an aspiring novelist and a corduroy-pants enthusiast.
Alex Garrow recently graduated from JCHS of the Bay in San Francisco and plans to study Communications and International Relations at USC in the fall. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors and listening to music.
Alexandra Kaminsky is a freshman at The Savannah Arts Academy in Savannah, Georgia, where she majors in theater. She is fifteen years old and enjoys songwriting and playing guitar.
Alex Levy is a member of the class of 2024 at Bio-Med Science Academy and lives in Warren, Ohio. She is a journalist, reader, and public health enthusiast. Currently, Alex is becoming a certified nursing assistant and a phlebotomist.
Alexa Druyanoff is a junior in Beverly Hills, California, and is very passionate about art. She takes painting and figure drawing classes, and engages with her art critique group. She is the Junior Art Director for Harvard-Westlake's Chronicle and is the Art Director for Fresh Ink for Teens.
Alexa Goldman is a member of the class of 2022 at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in New York City. She is an aspiring environmental engineer and she loves to spend time with her pets, a dog and a bird. Alexa is passionate about Israel advocacy and climate change.
Alexa Hulse is a member of the class of 2020 from Marvin Ridge High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attends Hollins University and is majoring in Gender and Women's Studies. She is currently interning for Lilith Magazine. You can find more of her work @futureghostpoems on Instagram.
Alexa Serby lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and is in the 12th grade at Ridgefield High School. When not doing school work, Alexa enjoys dancing with both her competition team and her school team, writing, and hanging out with friends. During the summer, Alexa attends URJ Crane Lake Camp, and absolutely loves spending time with her camp friends.
Alexandra is an 18 year-old 12th grader from Naples, Florida. She attends Mason Classical Academy. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in her Jewish youth group and other Jewish activities, as well as cooking, working out, and watching movies.
Alexandra Cohen is a member of the class of 2024 at NYC Lab School for Collaborative Studies in New York City. She is an avid volleyball player and on the club team NYC Juniors 15 Travel Brooklyn. She enjoys playing with her cat, Phoebe, who is named for Phoebe Buffay on the television show, Friends. When Alexandra is not at volleyball practice, you can find her on her couch watching Grey's Anatomy or talking to her friends on the phone.
Alexandra Weingard is a member of the class of 2024 at Trevor Day School in New York City. She has been a member of the 92nd Street Y swim team for six years and her favorite stroke is breaststroke. In her spare time, Alexandra likes to read and watch movies or take walks with her friends and family.
Alexis Greenberg in seventh grade at Indian Woods Middle School in Kansas. She likes to sing, write, and read. She enjoys working hard in school, and she's one of few Jewish kids at her school. Her favorite place on earth (other than home) is Camp Ramah in Wisconsin.
Alisa Kazarnovsky lives in New York City, where she is a junior at the High School of Art and Design.
Aliza Abusch-Magder is a first-year student at Columbia University where she intends to major in Gender and Women’s studies and English. Her interests include writing, reading, and jamming out to 2000’s pop in her room. Aliza has been a member of the jGirls+ Magazine editorial board since 2016-2017 and is the Visual Arts & Music Department Head.
Aliza Saunders is an incoming sophomore from Maryland studying Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell University. Last year, Aliza participated in Tivnu: Building Justice, a gap year in Portland, OR where she worked with three social justice organizations mostly revolving around helping houseless individuals. Aliza is a strong supporter of long walks, the Trader Joe's dessert aisle, Orange Is the New Black, and Camp Ramah.
Allie Gerber is a member of the class of 2026 at the Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas. She loves to read, write, run, bake, and hang out with friends and family.
Alma Kastan is a first-year student studying photography at FIT in New York City. She was born in Guatemala and adopted by her parents, Janice and John, who brought her home to New York. She has been taking photography classes since she was 13 years old at such schools as The International Center of Photography, New York Film Academy, and The Parsons School of Design. She plans on becoming a professional photographer.
Alyx is a senior at Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, and lives in New Rochelle, New York, a suburb of New York City. She was born in London, and moved to the United States at the age of nine. She works with Keshet on their teen programming, and is a writer for her school newspaper. She is an activist and a motivational speaker. Her hobbies include reading, watching TV, and playing with her dog.

Amanda Hershkin is a junior at Livingston High School, a public school in Essex County, New Jersey. When not writing, she enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and working with children.
Amelie is a member of the class of 2023 at the University of Chicago Laboratory School in Chicago, Illinois. She spends her school year debating the world’s foremost humanitarian issues through her school’s Model United Nations team and spends her summers reading romance novels.
Anina Alpert is a junior at Lane Tech College Prep, in Chicago, Illinois. She's been a coxswain for the past three years on a nationally-ranked rowing team. She also enjoys cheesy teen romance novels, art, and cooking.
Anna M. Dubey is an eighth-grade student at the Abraham Joshua Heschel School, a Jewish day school. She lives in New York. Her interests include writing, sports, and hanging out with friends.
Annette Greenberg is a member of the class of 2023 at her high school in New Jersey. Her most frequent hobby is reading, and she believes that the perfect book exists for every type of person. She is passionate about creative writing and disability rights and hopes to see more diversity in books to represent every reader.
Annie Bernstein is a member of the class of 2023 at Valley International Preparatory High School in Los Angeles, California. She is a member of her school’s speech and debate and slam poetry teams, and kickboxes at a local gym. Annie is passionate about writing and history, and in her spare time she likes to read and cuddle with her cat.
Annie Goldman is a 15-year-old homeschooler living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She's very passionate about animal rights, Judaism, and painting.
Annie Poole is a freshman at Barnard College in New York City. She is interested in studying art history, anthropology, and gender studies. Annie served two years on the jGirls+ Editorial Board as Nonfiction Department Head and as a member of the art department. She was also the Print Editor-in-Chief of her high school newspaper, The MIHS Islander, and co-President of MIHS’s Gender Equality Club.
Annika Liss lives in Durham, Connecticut, where she is a member of the class of 2025 at Coginchaug Regional High School. She loves playing the horn and the guitar, as well as reading, writing, D&D, and drawing. She also enjoys participating in her school's Model UN club and writing for the school newspaper. Annika is still in denial about Latin being a dead language; there's not much point in trying to convince her otherwise.
When writing about very personal matters, contributors to jGirls+ Magazine may elect to publish their works anonymously at the discretion of the staff and Editorial Board. All works and contributors are verified as meeting jGirls+’ qualifications prior to acceptance and publication.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was founded in 1913 to fight anti-Semitism and all forms of hate. ADL advocates for a safe and secure democratic Jewish State of Israel and combats efforts to delegitimize it. Through its Education work, ADL inspires people of all ages to challenge bias in themselves, others and society in order to create more inclusive and equitable communities.
Anya Gruener is a member of the class of 2024 at Gulliver Preparatory in Miami, Florida. She is the co-founder of a nonprofit organization, Active Love USA Foundation Inc. Anya is passionate about faith, English literature, and creative writing, and in her spare time she likes to write articles and create multimedia pieces.
Anya Rose is in the high school class of 2023. She lives in Southern California and loves running, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and anything outdoors. Anya also collects plants, rocks, and candles!
Arielle Goldman is a freshman at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, New York. She enjoys writing and singing, and she sometimes even combines the two hobbies into writing songs!
Arielle Kopp is a senior at the Academy of Allied Health and Science in Neptune, NJ. She is the Vice President of her BBYO chapter and Director of Projects for her school's Key Club. She loves history and science, and is mildly obsessed with watching Jeopardy!
Arthur Ross (he/they) is a member of the class of 2025 at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. He is majoring in cello performance and psychology, and loves art.
Artie Ross is a high school senior from Strongsville, Ohio. She enjoys writing stories and playing the cello, and she is passionate about protecting the environment.
Ary Hammerman is a member of the class of 2025 at The Leffell School in Hartsdale, New York. She enjoys writing, fashion, and listening to Taylor Swift. Ary hopes to become a writer or teacher and loves kids more than anything.
Auden Yurman is a junior at State College Area High School in State College, Pennsylvania. At her school, Auden is the photography manager for the yearbook and newspaper and helps out with tech in the school shows. She is passionate about politics. In her spare time, she likes to read, write, and hang out with her dog, Ringo.
Audrey Honig is a high school senior from Elmhurst, Illinois. She works as a Hebrew teacher for her congregation and will be a camp counselor for URJ camp OSRUI this summer. She also plays the flute in a youth symphony and has taught herself to play the accordion. She loves being on the Editorial Board for jGirls+ as the Poetry Department Head.
Aura Avrunin lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and is home schooled. In her free time, she is on a swim team and loves to read and write.
Ava Weiss is a senior at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. She is an avid writer and theater lover. She is also an advocate for animal rights and food justice. Her friends are very important to her; she loves going out with them and having fun. You will often find her dancing, singing, and telling silly jokes.
Avah Montgomery (she/her/hers) is a member of the class of 2025 at Shadow Mountain Highschool in Phoenix, Arizona. At school, she participates in the honors program DAAPS (the Digital Academy for Advanced Placement Scholars) where she dives deeper into history and the English language. She is also a part of the North Valley Arts Academy where she enjoys practicing the art of theater. Some of her favorite clubs are the National Honors Society, the Veteran’s Heritage Project, Key Club, and the Society of Women’s Scholars. Avah is an aspiring professor with a tremendous interest in the world of women’s studies and gender/sexuality. Some of her favorite books are Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton and Lara Love Hardin, and Not All Boys Are Blue by George M. Johnson. When she is not at school, you can find her hiking, camping, or traveling. Additionally, music plays a huge part in her life. She has a love of music spanning all genres, but she is particularly fond of 70s and 80s music, rock, and indie/folk music.
Avi Zimmerman is a member of the class of 2024 at the Nightingale-Bangor’s School in New York City, NY. They love to draw and paint, and they are currently learning ASL. Avi can be found singing songs while accompanying themself on their guitar.
Aviv Plaut is a member of the class of 2025 at North Shore Hebrew Academy, in Great Neck, New York. Aviv plays ukulele and drums and enjoys sketching in their free time.
Aviva Katz grew up in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from Shalhevet High School. She loves to read and write, as well as draw, act, sing, and debate. She is passionate about Judaism, politics, education, musical theater, cats, and more.
Avrah Ross is a sophomore at The Athenian School in Danville, CA. She is the captain of her tennis and dance team and loves to travel, take photos, read and spend time with her family and friends.
Aydia Caplan is a senior at George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. You can usually find her at her sprawlingly cluttered desk, listening to alternative rock, and giving a blank piece of paper an equally blank stare as she tries to fill it with hope alone.
Ayelet Cooperberg is a member of the class of 2024 at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. At her school, she is the co-president and founder of the ASL club and the captain of the swim team. Outside of school, she enjoys rock climbing, playing tennis, and baking. Ayelet has three younger brothers and two dogs. Her house can be pretty chaotic so she spends a lot of time reading, making bracelets, or solving Rubik's cubes in her room.
Ayelet Fishman is in 10th grade at CESJDS High School. She lives in Maryland, and loves photography.
Ayelet Kalfus is a 18-year-old New Yorker. Her passions include science, writing (especially creative nonfiction), and staying up too late. She loves exploring her many interests and is involved in a ton of extracurriculars, both within and outside of school.
