Sabrina Thaler is a high school freshman from Baltimore County, Maryland. She is involved with the National Federation for Temple Youth's Mid-Atlantic region and works in her synagogue's religious school. She also writes and edits news articles and helps lead a political organization within her school.
Sadie Benjamin is a member of the class of 2025 at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois. She is on her school's Model United Nations team and plays on the golf team. In her free time, she can often be found reading, writing, or watching Seinfeld.
Sadie Leiman is a member of the class of 2025 at Union High School in Vancouver, Washington. She loves to play piano, drums, baritone saxophone, and perform in theater. Recently, she played the role of Teen Fiona in Shrek! The Musical and discovered her love for singing. She also learned how to crochet and is enjoying crocheting stuffed animals. Sadie adores donuts (in fact, she had a donut-themed bat mitzvah) and fried chicken.
Sage Gilbert is a ninth-grader currently attending Piedmont High School in the San Francisco-Bay Area. In her free time, she plays water polo and enjoys spending time with friends and family! In the summer, Sage attends Camp Ramah in Southern California, where her Jewish identity flourishes.
Salma Shaie is a member of the class 2026 of Ruth Asawa SOTA in San Francisco, California. She loves poetry, reading, and true crime and eating ketchup with rice.
Samantha Meredith is a member of the class of 2024 at Cosumnes Oaks High School in California. She is the president of her Temple Youth Group, a commissioner in ASB at school, and a member of the National Honor Society. She is passionate about her Jewish community and enjoys attending TYG and NFTY events throughout the year. She enjoys going to the gym, baking, and watching sports in her spare time.
Samantha Weiner is a member of the class of 2025 at Galloway School in Atlanta, Georgia. She plays competitive tennis, is a rom-com enthusiast, and loves baking, reading, and writing. Her friends know her as the person who makes them cookies all the time.
Samara Haynes is a junior at Montclair High School in Montclair, New Jersey. She is an outspoken activist for climate justice, and is on her school's crew team. She enjoys hiking, playing guitar, and walking her dog.
Samara Trenaman is a junior at the Emanuel School, a Jewish day school in Sydney, Australia. She enjoys reading, writing, and cross-country running.
Sammi Reyes is a senior at Somers High School in Somers, New York. She is Executive Board Treasurer of her school's Student Council. Sammi also runs a blog titled The Spiritual Jew and is the host of the motivational podcast, Fashion Your Passion. Sammi is passionate about writing and all things Jewish, and in her spare time, she likes to read and inspire others.
Sara Pearl Adler is a freshman at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, FL where she is the Founder of her school’s Art Club and an active member of the Crew Team, the Jewish Heritage Club and the Technology Student Association. Outside of school, she is an environmental activist who leads communitywide events that showcase the impact of climate change on South Florida.
Sarah Chasin is in eleventh grade at Boise High School in Boise, Idaho. Sarah enjoys having conversations about physics and music as well as just getting to know all of the wonderful people in this world.
Sarah Cohen is a senior at Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia. She enjoys writing and social activism.
Sarah Gorbatov is a member of the class of 2022 at The Idea School in Tenafly, New Jersety. She is the editor-in-chief of her school publication, The Ideals, and a staff writer for the Jewish Week’s Fresh Ink for Teens. When Sarah is not writing, she is mixing potions and conducting scientific research, whether for her biodegradable fashion line or her work at Columbia University's Mitochondrial Psychobiology Lab. She is passionate about STEM, journalism, and education and is a sucker for arts and crafts.
Sarah Jean attends University of Florida. She is originally from Long Island, New York. She loves reading and writing, and spending time with her dogs. Above all, Sarah enjoys taking part in Jewish traditions and learning her family history.
Sarah Monoson is in the 11th grade at West Henderson High School in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She is the president of her school's Key Club, dances, and plays clarinet. Sarah's favorite subject is history, and she loves to read and write. When she isn't doing those two things, she's most likely hanging out with her friends or geeking out about the last TV show she watched (although those aren't mutually exclusive).
Sarah Naiman is a senior at Gahanna Lincoln High School. She lives outside of Columbus, Ohio, where she runs the school newspaper, participates in the speech and debate club, and volunteers regularly with the Wexner Service Corp.
Sarah is a ninth grader at the Spence School in New York City. Her activities include soccer (travel and school), track, and math and science teams.
Sarah Solon is a high school senior currently attending Atlanta Jewish Academy. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and enjoys making artwork and exploring new places.
Sarah Young is an 18-year-old first year student at Wellesley College. There, and in her hometown of Syracuse, New York, she is an active member of the Jewish community.
Sari Bircoll is a 12th grade student at Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. She enjoys writing and reading as well as spending time with friends and family.
Sarit Scher is a senior at Katz Yeshiva High School in sunny South Florida. She enjoys reading, writing, shopping, exercising, and spending time with family and friends
Sascha Harris is a member of the class of 2024 at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in New York City. She is an award-winning singer-songwriter and musician. Sascha is an active member of her school's newspaper and Israel Club. She is also passionate about music, literature, writing, art, and zionism.
Sasha Bryer-Gottesman is a member of the class of 2025 at School Without Walls High School in Washington, DC. She enjoys playing clarinet in the DC Youth Orchestra, teaching piano, and playing on her school's lacrosse team.
Sasha Hochman is a high school senior in the International Baccalaureate program at Central High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also a spin-class enthusiast who loves to think, philosophize, and read everything from The New York Times to the stack of novels by her bed. Her family belongs to a progressive Reconstructionist synagogue. She is a teaching fellow at Breakthrough, an organization that seeks to benefit Philadelphia’s under-resourced students by helping them to get to and through college. In her free time, she loves to listen to jazz, update herself on Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life, and explore her city.
Sasha has been a member of the jGirls+ Magazine editorial board since 2016-2017 and is the Poetry Department Head.
Sasha Azizi Rosenfeld is a member of the class of 2022 at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. She is the co-leader of her school’s current events club and of its Jewish Student Union. She is an active participant in an Israeli/Palestinian conflict, culture, and history class at NYC’s LGBTQIA+ synagogue. She also works at her Hebrew school and co-leads a class for elementary school students about the effects of climate change. Sasha runs cross-country and loves Camp Havaya, hanging out with her friends, reading, food, and her dog, Opal.

Scarlett London is a member of the class of 2023 Community High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. When she’s not playing with her very small dog or listening to music, she loves watching Marvel movies and eating popsicles. She is passionate about journalism, and is a web editor-in-chief for her school’s magazine, The Communicator. She also loves to dance and spends time every day at the studio or in her basement practicing.
Sequoia Hack is a junior at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts in the Creative Writing department. In her free time she likes to bake, spend time with animals, and hike in the outdoors.
Shae is from Manhattan Beach, California, and a member of the class of 2022 at Vistamar School. Some of their interests include listening to music, dancing, reading, and writing. Their dream is to become either a writer or a journalist one day.
Shaina Wolkenberg is a member of the class of 2025 at Deerfield High School in Deerfield, Illinois. She sings in choir, was featured in the school musical (Fiddler on the Roof), and is training as a classical pianist and vocalist. Shaina has also participated in mathletes and costume crew at DHS. She is passionate about fine arts, culture, and civil rights. Shaina dedicates her free time to her many hobbies including music composition, cooking, gluten free baking, and learning languages. She is notorious for her curiosity and never-ending questions for her rabbi.
Shayna Glazer recently graduated from high school in San Diego, California. Shayna has a strange fascination regarding the declining bee population and all things bee related, She enjoys playing soccer, hiking, writing, reading, and spending time with friends.
Shayna Schreiber is a member of the class of 2023 at Milken Community School in Los Angles, CA. She is one of the presidents of her Sketch Comedy Club, which stages serval shows a year, blending together her love of entertaining her community and anything goofy. In her spare time, you can find Shayna enthusiastically cheering on her school's basketball team with the other cheerleaders or strumming her guitar as she tries to master a new song. Among friends and family Shayna is known for her love of anything sweet, so if you have any spare Kit Kats, give her a call!
Shifra Waskow is a senior at Fusion Academy in Washington, DC. In her free time, she loves playing Ultimate Frisbee, hiking, going to her synagogue, reading, and watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Shira Joy is a ninth grader at Beth Tfiloh High School in Baltimore, Maryland. When she is not writing, Shira enjoys playing volleyball, learning Hebrew, and spending time with her family.
Shoshana is a member of the class of 2025 at The Jewish Community High School of the Bay in San Francisco, California. She has been part of the GSA since Freshman and has more recently joined the yearbook team. Shoshana is a poet and emerging short story and screenplay writer. In her free time she enjoys flower pressing, and creating collages with words and images from newspapers her dad reads.
Shoshana Maniscalco is a junior at Ithaca College where she studies sociology and counseling. She spends her summers working at URJ Eisner Camp. She enjoys writing, crafting, and exploring nature.
Sigal Plotkin is going into her freshman year of high school at the Jewish Community High School in San Francisco. She is part of the theater program and intends on joining the graphic art program. In her spare time she enjoys playing basketball (she intends to join the team at JCHS), writing and creating various forms of art.
Simone Miller is a senior at Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Skokie, Illinois. She is the editor-in-chief of her school's newspaper, The Crown Prints, as well as an editor of her school's yearbook and literary magazine, Charlotte's Web. Simone is politically active and is a vocal supporter of Israel, feminism, the environment, and sustainable fashion.
Simone Saidmehr is a member of the class of 2024 in the Tel Aviv University and Columbia University Dual B.A. Program. She is originally from Manhattan, New York. Simone is majoring in Middle Eastern studies and political science and minoring in philosophy. She has lived in Tel Aviv for the past year where she volunteers at an organization called Beit Ruth which is a long-term therapeutic residence and school for girls at risk. In her free time, Simone likes to sing, take photos, cook, and write.
Sion Cohen is a student at the Kean University. She lives in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She enjoys writing and hanging out with her friends. Sion loves school and is very passionate about her classes and extracurriculars. In her free time, she enjoys going to the mall and playing The Sims 4
Siskind (she/her they/them) is a member of the class of 2022 at Annapolis High School in Annapolis, Maryland. She is in the Performing Visual Arts magnet program at her school for creative writing and is the president and founder of the Literature club. She loves languages and one day hopes to be fluent in at least one language from popular language families in order to translate her own work. Siskind enjoys binge watching TV shows and editing images in her free time.
Sloane Warner is a senior at The Weber School in Atlanta, GA. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of The Weber RamPage and is hoping to pursue journalism in the future. She is also an avid reader and dancer.
Sonja Lippmann is a member of the class of 2023 at Leigh High School in San Jose, California, where she especially enjoys learning about science and is a member of the volleyball and swim teams. She is also active in the Jewish youth group, BBYO, and is passionate about Judaism and social action in her community. Sonja loves traveling, picking up new hobbies, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog in her free time.
Sophie Frankel is a senior at Boulder High School in Colorado. She is passionate about education, art, and finding reason and justice in the world. In her free time she likes to read, draw, and spend time in nature.
Sophie Hill is a senior at Woodford County High School. She lives in Midway, Kentucky, and loves to make music both in and out of school.
Sophie Kessler is from New Jersey and is a member of the class of 2023. She is passionate about writing, music, politics, TV, and film.
Sophie Krajmalnik is a junior at Plano West Senior High School in Plano, TX. She loves reading, participating in technical theatre, and competing in science fair.
Sophie Soloway is a junior at Walter Panas High School in New York State. When not writing, she enjoys competitive figure skating and advocating for social change within her community.
Sophie Stein is in 11th grade at White Plains High School in White Plains, New York. Her interests include drumming, reading, Judaism, and good movies.
Sophie Ungerleider is a senior at H.H. Dow High School in Midland, Michigan. She is on the varsity pom pom team and manages social media for her school's newspaper. She is passionate about social justice and activism and she spends her summers at URJ Camp Harlam.
Stefanie Rose is a member of the class of 2024 at Penn State University, with a major of English on the pre-medicine track. She is from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. In her free time, she loves to go to her school’s football games, attend sorority events, and cook with her friends.
Steph is the jGirls+ Communications and Community Weaving Manager. She is a Jewish activist and writer based in D.C. where she fights to expand abortion access and reproductive justice. She writes newsletters, funds abortion, and shares information about self-managed abortion. Her words have appeared in Bustle, Ms. Magazine, The Progressive, Vice, Lilith, Alma, and more. Steph is proud to be the Vice President of the Emma Goldman Clinic, an independent abortion provider.
Stephanie Kallish is from the suburbs of Chicago. She went to Highland Park High School and grew up at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El. She is a member of the class of 2025 at Brandeis University and is studying Near Eastern and Judaic Studies and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. She served on the International Board of USY, is currently on the Jewish Feminist Association Board at Brandeis, and is involved in Jewish Mental Health Advocacy, Israel Education, and general Jewish life. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys reading, biking, Jewish learning, and drinking coffee.
Susan Weidman Schneider is the Editor-in-Chief and one of the founding mothers of the groundbreaking magazine Lilith, whose tagline is "independent, Jewish & frankly feminist." (You can read Lilith articles and daily blog posts at www.Lilith.org.) Susan is also the author of three books, including the acclaimed Jewish and Female.
Sydney Barish is a senior at the Eleanor Roosevelt High School, a relatively small public school based in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York. She enjoys writing and exploring techniques to make reading a sensory experience as well as an intellectual one. Sydney also enjoys creating art, whether in the form of writing, painting, or music and loves to share it with her peers.
Sydney Raby is a member of the class of 2022 at Gann Academy, a Jewish high school in Waltham, Massachusetts. Her biggest interests are theater and STEM. Sydney is president of her school's Drama Club, GSA, and Girls Who Code chapter, and a member of three vocal ensembles. Within her synagogue, she leads weekly toddler Shabbat services. She loves exploring her many interests, and learning new things!
Sydney Schulman lives in a suburb of Syracuse, New York, and attends Christian Brothers Academy (a Catholic School, but she is very involved in her Jewish faith). At school, she edits the newspaper and participates in Mock Trial. In her free time, she loves to hang out with her family, read the huge stack of books by her bed, watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, walk her dog, write in her journal, or shop online. She is also very passionate about her charity work with individuals struggling with anxiety and/or depression in her community.
Sydney Stoller recently graduated from Hackley School. She will be attending Middlebury College.
Sylvi Stein (she/her) is a member of the class of 2025 at Columbia University. Her writing has been published by Beaver Magazine, Eunoia Review, Orotone Journal, and AYASKALA Magazine, among others. In her spare time, Sylvi can be found wandering the aisles of used book stores, even though she has more than enough to read at home.
Sylvia Zeltzer is a senior at the Abraham Joshua Heschel School in New York City. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Helios, the school newspaper, and attended the Medill Northwestern Journalism Institute( Cherubs) during the summer of 2023. Sylvia is an Israeli-American from Hoboken, New Jersey.
