Lauren Alexander is a member of the class of 2023 at Tampa Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. She loves singing and is a part of her school’s honors choir. She is also passionate about advocating for people with disabilities. In her free time, you can usually find Lauren reading or singing whatever Broadway song comes to mind.
Leah Bogatie is a senior at William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ontario. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, acting, and singing.
Leah Fleischer is a freshman at Muhlenberg College from Silver Spring, Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, playing piano, watching YouTube, baking, and reading Russian literature.
Leah Frankel is a member of the class of 2023 at Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado. Outside of school, she participates in the Boulder JCC High School Culture Club, the district-wide Youth Equity Council, engages in a national teen Jewish feminist group Kol Koleinu and attends Ramah in the Rockies during the summer. Leah is a middle child of three girls and has been interested in both social justice issues and writing from a young age. In her free time, she loves to sing, make art, read, hike, and listen to music. "Contributing to the world through writing allows me to both grow as a learner and share with my community!"
Leah Jaffe is 17 years old, and a junior at Cambridge Central School in upstate New York. She enjoys participating in many forms of the performing arts, as well as reading, writing, gardening, and petting dogs.
Leah Schutz is a member of the class of 2022 at Queens Metropolitan High School in Queens, New York. She is the founder of her school’s American Sign Language Club as well as an Italian tutor. She is passionate about making meaningful statements through artwork and does so in her school's advanced art class and art club. Leah started surfing at the age of nine and is also an active member of USY.
Leah Stark graduated from El Camino Real Charter High School in Los Angeles, California, where she was the editor-in-chief of her school's newspaper and the president of the Great Films Club. Leah is an avid reader, a vivacious film buff, and an amateur writer. Whenever she is not studying, Leah is reading a book or relaxing with her dog, Clapton.
Leslie Marsh is a freshman at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying psychology and special education. In high school, she was an active participant in both her temple youth group, NAWDTY, as well as her regional youth group, and she is always proud to express her identity—something she has been able to do through her involvement with Hillel on campus. Leslie loves singing, cooking, and crafting, and she hopes to someday become a special education teacher.
Lexie Fried is a junior in Buffalo, New York. She is a passionate advocate for various causes and aspires to work in government. In addition to her love for jGirls+, she also enjoys public speaking and community organizing. She is also very involved in the leadership of NFTY, North American Federation of Temple Youth, and her days are filled with being surrounded by her Reform Jewish community.
Liel Huppert is in the 10th grade at the Jane Goodall Environmental Sciences Academy. One of her connections to the Jewish community is through Yachad, a program for Minneapolis teens.
Lila Hruby is a home schooled junior in Florida, who enjoys working with children and volunteering. She is interested in studying psychology and hopes to become a child psychologist.
Lila Ressler is a member of the class of 2021 from Upstate New York. She has been an avid reader since a very young age. When she is not writing, she enjoys learning other languages and being in nature.
Lila Singer is a sophomore at Montclair High School in Montclair, New Jersey. She runs track. Her passions include filmmaking, singing, and writing. In her spare time, she likes to learn Spanish and dreams of traveling abroad one day.
Lillian Engber is a member of the class of 2025 at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, NY. She is a member of the cross-country team and the wrestling team. In her spare time, she likes to read and cook.
Lilly Dickman is a junior at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, waterskiing, and spending time with friends.
Lily Gardner is a junior at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky. She is a director of Middle and High School Support work for Sunrise Movement. She also serves as the state policy director for Kentucky Youth Climate Strike, a hub coordinator of Sunrise Lexington, and is on the Youth Climate Strike Coalition.
Lily Gold is a high school senior from Livingston, NJ. She attends Livingston High School where her favorite school subjects are history and photography. Outside of school, Lily enjoys reading, writing, and volunteering.
Lily Granai is a member of the class of 2024 and will graduate from Howard High School in Columbia, Maryland. Lily enjoys theater, improv, tennis, going on walks, FaceTiming friends, and Grey's Anatomy. Lily is very active in BBYO and writes for their newspaper as well.
Lily is a member of the class of 2028 at Thames High in Aotearoa New Zealand. In addition to reading and writing, she enjoys origami, swimming, and is a brown belt in karate.
Lily Lorenzen is 16 years old and was born and raised in San Francisco. She is a sophomore at the Urban School of San Francisco, where she plays soccer and lacrosse, and is also involved in the yearbook and Jew Crew. Lily loves taking photos of her friends, the city, the sky, or really anything that catches her eye!
Lily Naider is a proud member of the Class of 2026 at Posnack Jewish Day School in Hollywood, Florida. A passionate reader and writer, she finds joy in exploring new worlds through literature and bringing her own ideas to life. When she's not immersed in books or crafting stories, you’ll likely find her traveling the globe, making memories with friends, or playing the cello. As the founder and president of her school's National English Honor Society chapter, Lily is dedicated to inspiring a love for literature and writing in those around her.
Lily Pazner is a member of the class of 2022 at Cranbrook Kingswood High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She is an avid reader and writer who is passionate about social justice. In her free time, you can find Lily walking her dog, baking vegan treats, or rereading one of her favorite books.
Lily Sheldon lives in London. She is a student at Oxford University. Her interests include writing, editing her school newspaper, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends.
Lily Stambouli is a member of the class of 2024 at Harvard Westlake School in Los Angeles, California. She plays goalie on her school’s field hockey team and works with Wilshire Boulevard Temple as a teaching assistant. Lily is passionate about entrepreneurship, business, and filmmaking. In her free time, Lily enjoys drives to Malibu, paddle boarding, and seeing movies.
Liora Meyer is 17 years old and lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is a senior at Gann Academy, where she is a leader of the Women in STEM club, a managing editor for the school newspaper, and a member of the choir. Liora is passionate about literature, history, psychology, and visual arts, as well as her commitment to vegetarianism.
Hannah has been a member of the jGirls+ Magazine editorial board since 2017-2018 and is the Photography Manager.
Lisa Stein is studying Music and Religion at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. Lisa holds a position on the Wesleyan Jewish Community Student Leadership Board; leads the Mazel Tones (Wesleyan’s Jewish a cappella group) and the Wesleyan Nigun Circle; sings in South Indian music and dance performances; and plays cello in various world, experimental, and classical music concerts.
Livvy Krakower is a high school senior from New Jersey. She has previously been published in Blue Marble Review, The Writers’ Circle Journal, Jewish Women of Words, The Blissful Pursuit Magazine, and others.
Lola Morris is a member of the class of 2023 at Notre Dame Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona. She plays lacrosse for her school and oil paints.
Lucia Frank is a member of the class of 2023 at Friends Seminary in New York City. She dances in the performing ensemble at the School at Peridance, is an avid reader, a huge Joni Mitchell fan, and loves to write.
Lucy Cosgrove is a graduate of the Abraham Joshua Heschel School in Manhattan, New York. She loves journaling, playing piano, singing, and learning about herself and her Judaism. She will be studying in Israel on Kivunim before entering the University of Michigan.
Lucy Dressler is in 11th grade at Medway High School. She lives in London, Ontario, Canada. She enjoys writing, singing, dancing, drawing, and acting.
Lucy Singer is a junior at The Weber School in Atlanta, Georgia. She enjoys writing poetry, playing piano, and playing with animals. She is an advocate for animal rights and gender equality. Lucy is extremely excited to share her poetry.
Lydia Lukyanov is a high school senior at The Victor Hugo School in Paris, France. Lydia serves as her high school’s president, and is the founder and coach of the school’s first-ever badminton team. While Lydia enjoys academics and sports, her real passion is music composition.
Lydia Miller is a member of class 2023 at The Abraham Joshua Heschel School in New York City. She is the photographer of her school newspaper, and an active member in student government. Lydia is passionate about genetics and history, and in her spare time she enjoys reading manga and writing short stories. Lydia has moved a total of seven times in her life.
Lyla Souccar is an 8th grader at The Leffell School in Westchester, New York. She enjoys soccer, musical theater and writing...and especially her summers at Eisner Camp.
Lyla Waitman is a junior at SAR High School, and lives in White Plains, New York. She enjoys writing, editing, and art. Each and every year, she spends the majority of her time out of school at the Play Group Theatre and her summers at Camp Yavneh.
