Artist’s Statement:

This drawing is of a corner of my living room where we house our Jewish texts. This shelf is, therefore, a resting place for centuries of Jewish thought and wisdom that I can easily access. I created this piece to fulfill a prompt—”draw a section of a room in your house”—but looking back, I think the fact that I was drawn to this specific corner makes this drawing more meaningful. At the time, I chose this part of my living room because of the interesting angles, textures, and perspectives, but now I think the holy nature of the space is what drew me in.
