Artist’s Statement
My piece is about the current events taking place in Israel and Gaza. Featured in my photo is one of the many blue ribbons placed around the city calling for the return of all the Israeli hostages. While the ribbon looks peaceful blowing lightly in the wind, it stands as a visible reminder of the terrible war. The ribbons and the “KIDNAPPED” posters have become another battleground, as they are constantly being torn down or vandalized by opposing viewpoints.
