Sally's Kids by Isabel Carr

Artist’s Statement: This sketch is of my Grandma Sophie and her brother Bernard as children in Coney Island, Brooklyn, done in graphite. I never got a chance to get to know either of them, so I like to imagine what they were staring at when this picture was taken and what made them smile. The Hebrew word that overlays their faces means “love.”
