Artist’s Statement: This painting shows a cut and torn up canvas with a blurred rainbow on it to represent the struggle of sexuality and how hard the journey is, often resulting in mental, physical, and emotional pain. I put Band-aids on the canvas over some of the cuts to show that it is possible to heal from the trauma and homophobia, and that the struggle does get easier.
