Dante’s Hell

Artist’s Statement: The title of this piece is Dante’s Hell and its theme is Lucifer and the deepest levels in The Inferno. This piece is a part of a sustained investigation where I investigate belief in the supernatural and metaphysical as a way of escapism. In the first part of my investigation, I examine many belief systems and in this, specifically hell. It explores my personal fears around the afterlife and how many parts of it are both theatrical and terrifying. I used ink, watercolor, and colored pencil.
