On the Mend

On the Mend by Anonymous - Photo by Caroline Koppel

I practice smiling in the mirror
And tell myself
I’m
Whole

I eat half an apple
Make sure my mom sees
And tell myself I’m
Full

But I am like glass;
Fragile
Shattered
Half-empty

I see no way out
They say I’m
On the mend
