A Gift

Artist’s Statement: I used oil on canvas in my piece. I was inspired by Gerda Weissmann Klein’s book All But My Life in which she describes her birthday in a concentration camp. Her friend found a single berry and saved it in her pocket all day for Gerda. Klein shows how much she appreciated this action as well as the tiny berry.
