Hi! I’m Julianna Stein (she/her), and I’m a member of the class of 2027 living in Baltimore, MD. I care deeply about the power of words, storytelling, and community, which has led me to pursue writing and advocacy in many forms. At my Jewish day school, I volunteer weekly at our preschool daycare program, tutor my peers through the National Honor Society, and serve as the leader of both our gun violence prevention club and culinary club. I’m also a counselor at a Jewish summer nursery camp and an active member of my Reform synagogue community, where I participated in the Confirmation program, the affiliated L’Taken Social Justice Seminar, and the RAC Teen Justice Fellowship. Being Jewish is a meaningful part of my identity and has shaped the values I bring to the world, especially the Jewish values of justice and storytelling.
When I’m not studying, I love reading novels, drawing, baking desserts, sewing clothing, and watching TV, as well as spending time with my family and friends. I am also a new member of Pivot’s teen writing program, which is another way I use writing to amplify my voice and share my messages with the world. I’m so excited to be part of the jGirls+ community, and I can’t wait to learn from and collaborate with other passionate Jewish teens.
