I’m Joelle Reiter (she/her), and I served on the jGirls+ editorial board for two years. I attend Northwestern University where I’m studying biology. I’m passionate about the sciences and expanding public perceptions of neurodiversity.
Some of my favorite activities as a homeschooled, high schooler in Chicago included interning at The Shedd Aquarium, where I conducted coral biology alongside Shedd scientists, and serving as a member of The Steppenwolf Theatre’s Young Adult Council. At Steppenwolf Theatre, I was asked to be part of The Red Folder project and create theatre curriculum for teachers, and I was honored to give a speech at the dedication of the theatre’s new education building.
