Hi, my name is Helen Lieberman, and I’m a member of Livermore High School’s Class of 2028. I’m an avid reader and writer, and I love to talk about all things related to books. Another interest of mine is psychology, which I’ve explored through classes at school and independently over summer breaks. I would love to blend my two interests and carve out a dream job—something like researching the way the brain differentiates between books and real life. During my sophomore year of high school, I received two awards for my writing: the Excellence in Creative Writing award and the People’s Choice Award in Poetry. Receiving recognition for my work pushed me to enroll in a creative writing summer course at Oxford Scholastica, which expanded my knowledge of the subject even further. Outside of school, I am a ballet dancer at a school for pre-professionals. I have been dancing for 14 years, and I have been on pointe for four.
This is my first year working as an editor for jGirls+, and I am looking forward to furthering my understanding of editing and inspiring others to write. I’m passionate about my Jewish identity, and with this opportunity, I am also hoping to help other Jewish girls and women become more comfortable in their own skin.
