2023–24 jGirls+ Magazine Photographer
My name is Abigail Chesman, and I am a member of the class of 2025 at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (CESJDS) in Rockville, MD. This is my second year as a jGirls+ photographer! I am the multimedia editor of The Lion’s Tale (my school newspaper), the photo editor of the yearbook, and an editor-in-chief of the Bohr Franklin Science Journal. My father was a photographer for 30 years in the DC area, and he inspired me and my passion for photography, which has blossomed into a love of cinematography over the past few years. My debut short The Window has won several filmmaking awards in the DC area, and I hope to pursue filmmaking in college. For fun, I enjoy listening to music, doing the NYT mini crossword, rock climbing, and preserving the Oxford comma. I am very excited to have the opportunity to collaborate artistically with other Jewish teens across North America!
